Andile Dyalvane
Guided by a deep spiritual connection to his Xhosa ancestors, cultivated while growing up on a farm and caring for his father’s cattle herd, Andile Dyalvane’s preferred medium is clay or umhlaba, meaning ‘mother earth’. He completed a National Diploma in Art and Design at Sivuyile Technical College in Gugulethu, Cape Town, and a National Diploma in Ceramic Design. He is a teacher and a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and his work has been included in museum shows and collections around the globe.
