Genta Ishizuka

Born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1982, Genta Ishizuka lives in Kyoto City. He completed a MFA in Urushi Lacquering from Kyoto City University of Arts in 2008. Focusing on the texture and tactility of urushi lacquer, Ishizuka produces artworks that deal with “what is in between and around the membrane”. His work has been permanent collections of the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
